FRUITS:
Fruits can be seen as the fleshy or dry ripened ovary of a flowering plant, enclosing the seed or seeds. Is a mature ovary and its associate part, or is a seed-bearing structure and flowering plants that is formed from the ovary after flowering, Also, most fruit are eating in their fresh fleshy form to produce most of the nutrients for prevention of one or more deficiency diseases e.g. banana, grapes, apples, citrus, mangoes, cashew, water melon, pawpaw, etc.

Fruits: Are flesh
fruit and a single seed with a hard endocarp e.g. coconut, olives etc.

e.g. cucumber, strawberries etc.

form a flower with many pistils e.g. strawberry, berries etc.
- Legumes
fruits: Easily split
along two sides e.g. beans, peas etc.
NUTRITIONAL VALUE OF FRUITS
- Fruits are great sources of vitamins and minerals.
- They are low calories and low fat, low sodium.
- protect against cancer and other disease and also helps to maintain good health.
- The percentage of protein in fruits is very high while vitamin C particularly in citrus fruits.
- Fruit drink: Whole fruit containing 10% of fruits.
- Fruit cordial: Clear liquid.
- Fruit punch: Mixing desired fruit drink.
- Fruit squash: Fruit juice.
